About Us

Inclusive Psychological Services (IPS) is a small, supportive group practice dedicated to providing accessible and affordable therapy to our diverse community. We proudly serve POC and LGBTQIA+ clients, offering services through private pay and insurance, including managed Medi-Cal, Fee -for-Service Medi-cal (AKA: Straight Medi-cal) in-network and out-of-network plans, and California Victims of Crime.

Our mission is to provide high-quality, culturally informed, and affirming care in a collaborative environment that prepares associates for long-term success in private practice.

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated and compassionate associates who are interested in developing their clinical skills while building a sustainable private practice caseload. This role is ideal for clinicians who value autonomy and flexibility, with the structure and guidance of an experienced supervisory team.

While IPS provides referrals when available, associates are also expected to actively participate in outreach and engagement to help maintain an active caseload. This position differs from community mental health settings — our goal is to support you in cultivating your own private practice foundation.

This position is especially well-suited for therapists seeking flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a minimum of 20 weekly client sessions, with the expectation to build your caseload within 4 months.
  • Complete documentation (assessments, treatment plans, progress notes) within 48 hours in our EHR system.
  • Attend required clinical supervision (group, triad, or individual).
  • Provide culturally responsive and affirming care to clients.
  • Integrate objective data (e.g., self-report outcome measures) to inform case conceptualization and treatment planning.
  • Option to train in immigration evaluations (VAWA, U-Visa, Hardship, Asylum) when clinically appropriate.
  • Participate in marketing and outreach efforts to build and sustain a caseload.

Clinical Supervision & Consultation

While California has its own regulations, many states recognize the expertise and quality associated with supervision provided by an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. This highlights the importance of adhering to the specific standards and requirements set by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) to ensure high-quality systemic supervision.

Dr. Guerra has undergone extensive educational, experiential, and supervisory training, which led to the prestigious designation of AAMFT Approved Supervisor. This advanced training equips him to support future clinicians in delivering comprehensive systemic treatment to clients.

Dr. Guerra's supervision approach is rooted in a systemic orientation that considers the interconnectedness of individuals within their relational contexts, while upholding the highest professional and ethical standards. As a licensed clinical psychologist and marriage and family therapist, registered with both the Board of Psychology and the Board of Behavioral Sciences, Jose is qualified to provide clinical supervision and training. This supervision can count toward the accumulation of licensure hours for associate marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, professional clinical counselors, and psychological assistants.
